The Postal Service + Death Cab For Cutie

The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie share a common denominator: Ben Gibbard, an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born in Washington, he came to prominence in the early 2000s with the introspective lyrics and emotive sound of Death Cab for Cutie. The band's 2003 album, Transatlanticism, became a major work in the indie rock genre, with a significant cultural impact. At the same time, Gibbard was collaborating with producer Jimmy Tamborello on The Postal Service, a project that involved exchanging musical ideas by e-mail. His 2003 album, Give Up, featured Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley and achieved even greater recognition, influencing a whole generation of indie electronic artists with its synthesiser-based melodies and poignant lyrics. Gibbard left a lasting mark on the indie music scene with his lyrical depth and innovative approaches to music production.  MEO KALORAMA is delighted to be hosting the 20th anniversary tour of the release of these two iconic works, Give Up and Transatlanticism.
